Barktown Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization located in Boston, Kentucky. Seeing a need in their community, two volunteers first got their start working with Nelson County Animal Control to send dogs to rescues all over the country. Even with their best efforts, hundreds of adoptable dogs were being euthanized every year in Nelson County. The Midsouth Animal Welfare Foundation is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers and was founded in 2017 in NE Mississippi. This organization works very hard to reduce the number of litters in their community by offering a low-cost spay and neuter clinic once a week in Corinth, MS. All the proceeds from performing surgeries help fund their future mobile clinic. They have set a goal for themselves this year, to raise $75,000 to purchase a mobile unit that will allow them to provide low-cost spay and neuter services to underserved areas.
